Fujifilm breaks ground on new \4.5 billion expansion to grow semiconductor materials manufacturing capabilities in Europe

FUJIFILM announced that the company has broken ground on a new 30 million expansion at its electronic materials manufacturing site in Belgium, FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Europe) N.V., to grow semiconductor materials manufacturing capabilities in Europe. This marks one of Europe's biggest capital expenditure investments in the semiconductor materials supply chain over the last decade.

Hitachi High-Tech Announced New Production Facility for Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment in Kasado Area

Hitachi High-Tech announced that it will construct a new production facility in Kasado Area of Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, with a view to increasing production capacity of etching systems for its semiconductor manufacturing equipment business, with production scheduled to begin in FY2025.

The new facility will double production capacity through digitalized and automated production lines, in order to cater to the ever-increasing demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Japan Display Strategic Alliance MOU with Global No.3 Display Maker HKC

Japan Display (JDI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HKC Corporation (HKC), the global No.3 display maker, to create a strategic alliance. As global strategic partners, JDI and HKC will work together on next-generation OLED technology and fabs, a Global Innovation and Industrialization Center, and a high-end automotive display business.

DNP and SCIVAX Enter into Capital and Operational Alliance in Foundry Business for Mass-production of Nanoimprinted Productsion

Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) and SCIVAX announced to enter into a capital and operational alliance regarding a foundry business designed to mass-produce nanoimprinted products. A production control joint venture, Nanoimprint Solutions (Nanosol) was established on April 3, 2023.

In this alliance, they will combine DNP strengths in cutting-edge nanoimprint master mold manufacturing technology, mass production and quality control know-how, with SCIVAX strengths in mass-production manufacturing equipment capable of high-precision nanoimprinting, equipment design technology, and process know-how to further integrate the value chains of both companies.

Both companies will choose to manufacture products at the best suited manufacturing plants of two companies, under production control conducted by Nanosol.
