Taiyo Nippon Sanso constructs new electronics gas manufacturing plant in China

Taiyo Nippon Sanso announced construction of new electronics gas manufacturing plant at Yangzhou Chemical Industry Park (YCIP) in Jiangsu province China, in order to support increasing demand of electronics gases in Asia especially in China.

The total land of new electronics gas manufacturing plant at YCIP is 28,000m2 and 7,000m2 for manufacturing plant, warehouse and office. B2H6 synthesis, CH3F, C4F6 purification, Hydride mixing and cylinder treatment facility will be installed with target commercial operation from Q1 2019.

Mitsubishi Materials develop and commence the mass production of a new silver alloy sputtering target for OLED

Mitsubishi Materials announced to develop and commence the mass production of DIASILVER 201-100, a new Silver alloy sputtering target for organic EL displays.

The average grain size of the new target material is 100ƒÊm or less with a finer metal composition. And also, grain size variations through the thickness and along the target to be less than 20“. it corresponds to seamless large-sized Silver alloy targets (PlateFintegrated type G6, division type G11, CylindricalFG8.5).

Japan Display Announces Mass Production of FULL ACTIVE LCD

Japan Display (JDI) announced the mass production start of a FULL ACTIVE LCD display, which has a slim bezel design on all four display sides, and a display aspect ratio of 18:9 for smartphone devices.

The FULL ACTIVE LCD display was achieved by adopting a new high-density wiring layout, and new processing and module assembly technologies. Combined, these new technologies enabled JDI to reduce the width of the bottom bezel to be as narrow as the other three sides. This newly-designed LCD module structure will allow the size of a smartphone device to be nearly the same as the display size.

JDI Announces Development of a 10.2-inch Pixel EyesTM LCD Module with Peripheral Touch Controls for Automotive Applications

Japan Display (JDI) announced development of an integrated console display for automotive applications, suitable for and easy to incorporate into interior vehicle designs. This Pixel Eyes display features seamless cover glass and integrated peripheral touch controls around the display. The company will start sample delivery in December, 2017.

In this 10.2-inch Pixel Eyes product, a single IC controls both the active area touch functions and the peripheral touch controls around the display. This makes it possible to integrate automobile controls for air conditioning, radios, etc. into the display cover glass, making it easier to seamlessly integrate the input system into the cockpit design.

JDI changes the scheduled dates for the acquisition of shares of JOLED

Japan Display (JDI) announced amended scheduled dates for execution of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of shares of JOLED and completion of the acquisition of shares of JOLED. Execution of a definitive agreement regarding the acquisition of shares of JOLED is changed from March 30, 2017 to March 30, 2018, and completion of the acquisition of shares of is changed from late December 2017 to suspense.

Konica Minolta and Pioneer Establishes Joint Venture Company for OLED Lighting Business

Konica Minolta and Pioneer announced that Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED, the joint venture for Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) lighting business, was established on June 1, 2017.

The new company will take charge of business and product planning, product development, production technology development and marketing functions of both companies' OLED lighting business to drive its initiatives. Capitals is 490 million yen (Investment ratio:Konica Minolta 50%, Pioneer 50%).
